MALLET
For gongs 28" and larger, this maple gong mallet
surpasses all expectations! Designed in 1966, the compatibility
of wood, felt, and rubber combined with its unique shape has captured
the attention of symphonic percussionists all over the world! Using
the wide end, firmly strike the instrument one quarter from its
edge and the gong speaks immediately. No need to prime the
gong. That's an old wives' tale... Just be there! In contrast,
gently kissing the center of the gong with the narrow end produces
a suspended bass pedal tone. You control the swing, and the weight
of the mallet does all the work.
